There you have it - the new Shimano Aero Technium Magnesium - the best carp reel we have ever produced. Completely redesigned, even better refined, even better equipped. Developed to support the natural skills of the angler even better. In our relentless quest for perfection, we have reinvented the carp reel concept for long distance casting, for the first time combining the Super Slow 10 Oscillation with a new spool shape with a raised profile (45mm) and increased surface area (by almost 30% compared to the classic 14000 spool). Thanks to the combination of the Long Stroke spool and the oscillation, which guarantees winding of up to 107 reels per cycle, we have minimised the line friction created on the spool during casting. The special shape of the AR-C edge, combined with the Parallel Body perfectly aligned to the rod, increases the efficiency and performance of the reel, allowing it to exceed all previous limitations. That's not all, however. In this reel, each component had to be refined in terms of casting characteristics and how they work together. We therefore used lightweight and strong magnesium in the construction and created the HAGANE Body from it, using a cold-forging process. It makes the kit lighter and much easier to swing it at full force, which translates into the speed given to the weight. So much so that we were forced to reinforce the elements supporting the spool so that the main axle would not be damaged by overload. This is the new Rigid Cast technology - so good that it allows casts to be made even with the spool extended upwards on the rotor. Inside the strong and rigid HAGANE magnesium housing, we have installed components that have been tested more than once on the largest species of land and ocean. In the Aero Technium MgS they work together to give the reel maximum smoothness and the necessary power. We're talking about the cold-forged Hagane Gear main gearbox, the X-SHIP drive supported by additional bearings, and the total novelties - the MircroModule sprockets, efficiently transferring power to the mechanism, and the SilentDrive technology, eliminating drive vibrations - installed for the first time in any Shimano carp reel. This combination makes the Aero Technium MgS run exceptionally smooth and quiet, with a performance unmatched by any other carp reel model on the market. The Aero Technium MgS is a reel for professionals. With this in mind, we have equipped it with the best solutions to increase its durability in difficult situations. To give it the greatest possible life and resistance to harsh weather conditions, we have made use of our top-of-the-range X-Protect sealing system, which includes a labyrinth design for the thrust bearing cap and guide roller. Thanks to it, the chance of water or sand getting inside the reel has been reduced to a minimum. In addition, the 8 bearings inside the reel have been heat treated and sealed, which protects them from seizure due to water or sand particles. The reel comes complete with a spare spool, identical to the main spool, and two full sets of reduction washers, which shallow the spool to sizes 3500, 6000, 10000 and can be used with monofilament, braided line and fluorocarbon. The reducers are made of a special material that is strong and extremely lightweight. So much so that using a reducer in place of excess line makes the set lighter than a spool completely filled with line. Two models are available: XTD and XSD, differing only visually. The XTD version identifies what carp anglers love, expressed in a black satin casing and a very subdued look. The XSD version, on the other hand, features a never-before-seen design with a look reminiscent of the structure of liquid metal, which will particularly appeal to those who like to stand out from the crowd.
